Martin Jonsson and Anders Wennberg have been recruited as new senior managers for the team at the Catella Hedgefond fund.

“We are pleased and proud to be able to announce Martin Jonsson and Anders Wennberg as new senior fund managers at Catella,” says Erik Kjellgren, head of the Swedish fund operations. “Catella has very high ambitions for its fund management and, with their solid background from one of the market’s most high-profile hedge funds, these individuals will be an excellent complement to the existing Catella Hedgefond team.

“This recruitment therefore complements and completes the overall equities team for Catella Hedgefond and ensures the succession that started with the earlier recruitment of Martin Nilsson and Henrik Gripenvik. Sven Thorén has been part of the hedge fund team for a long time. We have succeeded in recruiting some of the market’s absolute top performers who, in addition to contributing analytical expertise and strong management outcomes, also fit in well with Catella’s culture. This recruitment, together with previously announced recruitments, means we have one of the strongest equity teams in Nordic fund management,” says Kjellgren.

Jonsson has 14 years of experience from the Zenit fund at Brummer & Partners, as an analyst, fund manager and investment manager. Prior to that, Jonsson worked at Investor AB.

Wennberg has 19 years of experience from hedge funds and investment companies. Wennberg joins from a role as portfolio manager for the Zenit fund at Brummer & Partners. Prior to that, Wennberg worked for the RAM hedge fund and at Investor AB.

Together, Jonsson and Wennberg formed the Stockholm-based management team for the Zenit fund.

Jonsson and Wennberg will immediately familiarise themselves with the management of the funds and will formally take up their posts on 1 September 2016.
