AMP Capital and BetaShares add Dynamic Markets Fund to suite of ETMFs

AMP Capital and BetaShares have launched their third active exchange traded managed fund (ETMF). The AMP Capital Dynamic Markets Fund (Hedge Fund) (DMKT) is the first global multiasset fund trading on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX).

The Dynamic Markets Fund was established in 2011 by AMP Capital Head of Dynamic Markets Nader Naeimi and AMP Capital Head of Investment Strategy and Chief Economist Shane Oliver to meet the needs of investors concerned about achieving their investment goals in the face of increasing market volatility.

DMKT is the ASX-traded version of the existing unlisted AMP Capital managed fund, which has raised more than AUD1.2 billion from retail and institutional investors. DMKT provides investors with low-cost global diversification, and dynamic allocation across a range of assets. This flexible approach navigates markets to buy under-appreciated opportunities, selling them when they become over-loved and expensive.

AMP Capital Head of SMSF and Self-Directed Wealth Tim Keegan, says: “SMSF and self-directed investors know they need to diversify and we want to make it easier for them to do this. DMKT provides investors with true diversification as it can access up to 80 global positions including global equities, fixed income, property, commodities, cash and foreign currency in one trade.”

BetaShares Managing Director Alex Vynokur (pictured), says: “Active exchange traded managed funds are an important step in the evolution of exchange traded products, providing access to diversified, actively managed investment portfolios in a single trade. Investors like them because they are liquid and easy to hold as they can be managed and reported in one place alongside all other ASX portfolio holdings.”

The Dynamic Markets Fund is the third active exchange traded managed fund launched by AMP Capital and BetaShares. The AMP Capital Global Infrastructure Securities Fund (Managed Fund) (ASX code: GLIN), which provides access to a range of diversified global listed infrastructure securities, and the AMP Capital Global Property Securities Fund (Managed Fund) (ASX code: RENT), which provides access to high-quality global property securities, are already trading on the ASX
