Spring Valley Asset Management hires CTO

Related Topics

Spring Valley Asset Management (SVAM) has appointed Brian Zeitz as its chief technology officer (CTO), with responsibility for the management and oversight of the firm's technology infrastructure.

This includes overseeing systems design, operational planning, disaster recovery/business contingency planning and cybersecurity.

Prior to joining SVAM, Zeitz was director of technology at NuWave Investment Management (2007 – 2016), performing similar responsibilities under the direction of SVAM’s current managing principal John Ryan.

Zeitz began his career as an Avionics Technician in the United States Navy (1988-1991). Following his honourable discharge from the navy, he was employed as a civilian contractor at the United States Naval Air Station in Willow Grove, Pennsylvania, where he was responsible for maintaining the technological infrastructure and providing support services for the Navy's ASW (anti-submarine warfare) Flight & Tactical Simulator Systems.

Zeitz subsequently held various senior technology and network security positions at a number of private sector firms.

"As a systematic manager, SVAM is both an asset management firm and a technology firm," says Ryan. "Having previously worked with Brian for many years, I am confident that his years of experience designing complex systems and networks, as well as building an institutional-calibre technology infrastructure, will add significant value to the firm as we prepare for continued growth going forward."
