Citigate Dewe Rogerson launches global hedge fund practice

Related Topics

Financial and corporate communications consultancy Citigate Dewe Rogerson has created a global hedge fund practice centred on London, New York, Hong Kong and Singapore.

The practice will be led by senior director Christen Thomson (pictured), a former deputy CEO of the Alternative Investment Management Association (AIMA), the global representative of the alternative investment industry.

Thomson was responsible for co-ordinating strategic communications for the industry and worked closely with both many of the world’s biggest hedge funds and many of the world’s biggest investors in hedge funds, as well as with journalists covering the industry globally.

Patrick Donovan, managing director of Citigate Dewe Rogerson, says: “The hedge fund industry is becoming ever more globalised and there are powerful trends in terms of institutionalisation, regulation, capital-raising and trading that mean that it makes sense for hedge fund firms to think globally in terms of their communications. With our international network of offices we can offer a seamless, institutional product to hedge fund firms around the world.”

Thomson says: “The industry faces a challenging external environment and it is increasingly clear that those firms that will be successful will be those that are concerned about their reputation, that prioritise how they are perceived by investors and the market, and that are able to build their own brands.”
