Polen Capital and SEI launch Global Growth and Focus Growth investment trusts

Related Topics

Polen Capital Management is to act as adviser to the Polen Global Growth Collective Investment Trust and the Polen Focus Growth Collective Investment Trust funds, which are established by SEI Trust Company, a subsidiary of SEI.

SEI is a supplier of customised operating infrastructure and services to investment organisations worldwide.

The new Polen Global Growth and Polen Focus Growth CITs will consist of large cap equity securities invested with Polen Capital’s investment philosophy and process, which have a 27-year track record.

“We have seen a growing client interest for our investment strategies within a CIT vehicle – particularly in our Global Growth strategy. Similar to our investment philosophy of only investing in high-quality companies, from a business perspective we only partner with best of breed service providers,” says Stan C Moss, CEO of Polen Capital. “With SEI we found an industry-leading trustee and administrative services provider.”

CITs are a rapidly expanding component of defined benefit and defined contribution plans due to the vehicle’s ability to accommodate flexible investment strategies, low-cost structure, and daily valuation, among other characteristics. Aiming to increase its retirement market presence and respond to clients’ needs, the Polen Capital CITs are the first CIT funds the firm advises.

The CIT can also be an effective structure for satisfying growing interest in high active share strategies, with the Polen Global Growth and Polen Focus Growth funds leveraging Polen Capital’s investment expertise in managing concentrated strategies.

Polen Capital has approximately USD10 billion in assets under advisement as of 31 August 2016, with strategies focusing on large cap growth equity securities.

SEI Trust Company serves as the trustee to the CITs, acts as an ERISA 3(38) fiduciary investment manager, and provides accounting and administrative functions.

“Polen Capital’s expertise with its Global Growth and Focus Growth strategies coupled with SEI’s scalable, flexible infrastructure is an appealing combination for retirement investors,” says John Alshefski (pictured), senior vice president and managing director of SEI’s Investment Manager Services division. “SEI’s integrated capabilities in CITs helps enable investment managers to preserve and grow assets.”
