Gaining the Edge has announced that its new major industry event, Gaining the Edge – Alternative Investment Cap Intro Florida 2022, which will benefit at risk youth will take place on 19-21 January in West Palm Beach, Florida and will continue virtually until 11 February.

Following the success of its virtual event this past spring, which had over 1,900 registrations (making it the largest virtual event in the history of the industry), Gaining the Edge Florida 2022 is expected to be one of the largest and highest quality hybrid in-person/virtual events of the year. Hundreds of alternative managers including hedge funds, private equity funds, real estate funds and long only funds are expected to participate in order to connect with Gaining the Edge’s global network of high quality investors including, endowments, foundations, pensions, institutional consulting firms, insurance companies, OCIOs, fund of funds, family offices, private banks among others. Gaining the Edge – Alternative Cap Intro Florida 2022 is complementary to other leading private cap intro events due to the low overlap of managers and investors that participate.

The event will combine the best features of Gaining the Edge – Virtual Cap Intro, Gaining the Edge’s annual, educational New York Alternative Investment Conference and Gaining the Edge – Educational Alternative Investment Webinar Series. As mentioned above, the firm’s recent 2021 virtual cap intro event was the largest virtual cap intro event in the history of the alternative investment industry with over 1,900 registrations. More importantly, investors viewed the quality of participating managers as very high, based on the significant level of due diligence they performed on managers on the platform. Gaining the Edge believes the average manager had substantially more meetings and investor views than other non-prime broker cap intro events this year.

“We are excited that the conference will feature panel discussions by some of world’s leading institutional investors. They will provide insights about what hedge fund strategies look the most attractive given current capital market valuations and economic forecasts. The conference will be primarily focused on providing a high quality capital introduction event while the Saturday after the event will be an optional day offering social activities. Those currently include golf and tennis tournaments and potential additions of a croquet tournament and everglades tour. We will also have a virtual only option, which allows investors and managers all over the world to participate who cannot attend in person,” says Don Steinbrugge, CEO and Founder of Gaining the Edge, LLC.

The event is free for “approved Investors” and pricing for fund managers and sponsors will be below competing events in order to place an emphasis on quality rather than maximising profits.  Gaining the Edge objective is to put on the largest and highest quality cap intro event in the alternative investment industry. A virtual only option will also be available at a significant discount for fund managers and service providers. A large percentage of profits from the event will benefit charities focused on at-risk youth. To date, Gaining the Edge LLC and Agecroft Partners have donated over USD2.7 million dollars to these organisations. Gaining the Edge will also promote diversity within the alternative investment industry by offering discounts to emerging firms that promote diversity through majority ownership and allowing investors to easily find and identify these managers in the scheduling portal.

Gaining the Edge’s annual New York Alternative Investment Conference sold out all six of its events, with over 2,000 unique alternative investment industry professionals and their alternative investment educational webinar series has hosted 19 episodes with over 5,000 unique industry professionals. Agecroft Partners, selected 12 years in a row by HFM Week and/or Hedgeweek as the top marketing firm of the year, will be helping to make the event a success. The success of any capital introduction event starts with the quantity and quality of investors. Agecroft has developed a strong reputation and enduring relationships with institutional investors around the world and created potentially the largest investor networks in the industry. Agecroft Partners also Co-hosted Hedgeopolis 2013 till 2016, which was one of the top hedge fund industry conferences at the time.
