Over half of new ESG jobs at hedge funds over the past two years have been filled by women, according to a report by Bloomberg.

The report cites a study by HFObserver, an online employment data platform focused on the alternative asset management industry, as the source of the information, with the 50 per cent figure said to be far in excess of the overall rate of female appointments in the hedge fund sector.

Globally, women accounted for 49.6 per cent of all ESG roles, compared with 29 per cent for overall hedge fund appointments in general.
