Anthony Burton has joined GLG Partners'  London office as a Portfolio Manager. Burton will co-manage GLG's global technology investments alongside Philip Pearson in conjunction with a broadening of the current scope of such investments to include the global media and telecom sectors.

Burton joins GLG from Merrill Lynch, where he ran a global long short fund which was largely focused on the technology, media and telecom sectors.
He will report to GLG's co-founder and senior investment manager, Pierre Lagrange.

Lagrange says, "Anthony brings valuable knowledge of the global technology sector and a proven ability to achieve high quality returns. We are delighted to have him onboard our investment management team. "

From 2000 to 2006, Burton was a Global Technology Specialist in the equity business of Merrill Lynch. Prior to this, he worked in technology sales at Nomura International.
