Armstrong-Denby has over 18 years’ experience advising and investing in listed investment funds. Most recently, Armstrong-Denby was a Managing Director in the corporate finance division of Edmond de Rothschild, where he actively advised a range of clients on strategies to grow AUM in listed and unlisted fund offerings, while also providing proactive strategic advice to fund boards. Armstrong-Denby has previously held similar senior positions with ING Bank, Intelli Corporate Finance and ABN AMRO Hoare Govett. Armstrong-Denby started his career working in investment funds on the buy side with City of London Investment Group plc, an active investor. Armstrong-Denby has an honours degree in Law (LLB) from Edinburgh University and holds an MBA from London Business School.

Armstrong-Denby will be responsible for leading the Corporate Finance team. His role will support origination and execution of transactions, as well as provision of strategic and technical advice to investment company boards and their managers.

Armstrong-Denby is the latest senior leader appointed by Fidante Partners as it grows its business operations. Joachim Klement joined in November 2017 to lead the Investment Research efforts of Fidante Partners and Fidante Capital.

Armstrong-Denby reports directly to Cathy Hales, Global Head of Fidante Partners.

Hales says: “John is a skilled adviser who brings deep knowledge of the listed investment funds sector as well as broad relationships with companies and boards across the industry. We are pleased that such an experienced and well-regarded individual is joining to lead the corporate finance team. It is an exciting time for Fidante Capital, with the team recently supported the listing of Augmentum Fintech plc on the London Stock Exchange by acting as sole financial adviser and bookrunner and joint sponsor. We feel confident John will be able to build on the current momentum.”

Armstrong-Denby adds: “I am really impressed with Fidante Capital’s recent achievements and the future vision for the company. We are looking to bring further depth and scope to the existing experience within the corporate finance team, to give us added firepower as we look forward to a busy and successful 2018.”
