Investor strategy into hedge fund investment has changed significantly post-2008.

Investor strategy into hedge fund investment has changed significantly post-2008. Many established funds were exposed as trend-following, and as such investors have identified emerging funds as the opportunity for uncorrelated returns. However, they have the following challenges in identifying the most appropriate emerging funds to invest in:
• Emerging funds have little or no opportunity to market themselves, and as a result these funds are often under the radar of investors
• Investors often need a significant level of transparency before being willing to invest, and emerging funds, due to their lack of infrastructure, find this difficult to provide
• The emphasis on due diligence on behalf of the investors (as opposed to immediate transparency of the funds themselves), often leads investors towards large, established funds, where they have to carry out less work
Do you invest in emerging hedge funds, and do you also face these challenges?

If so, then you should attend Terrapinn’s Emerging Hedge Funds World Zurich 2011, taking place at the Dolder Grand in Zurich on November 17th 2011. 6 complimentary places remain available on a first come first served basis to end investors for this event, and to attend, please contact me on [email protected], or call +44 (0) 20 7827 5981.
