Over the last years all financial institutions have been face with an increasingly complex set of domestic and international challenges. Meeting new requirements is an increasing challenge for the financial community particularly when it comes to Internal Audit. Internal Audit can play a more strategic role within the organization including identifying enterprise-wide cost efficiences, and with a risk-based approach providing strategic insight to improve business performance. Internal Auditors must focus on creating value by identifying, monitoring and providing early warning of new risks, improving processes and efficiency, being the catalyst for improvement, creating proactive relationship with the Management and the Audit Committee without jeopardizing their independence. Delivering all these requirements is one of the biggest challenges for Internal Auditors.

The aim of our Forum is to look at the impact of these new requirements Internal Audit has to face and explore how the financial sector can develop Internal Audit and so that it find its place at the heart of financial institutions.
