Louis de Gabriele

Louis read law between 1983 and 1988 and was admitted to the profession in 1989. He joined Camilleri Preziosi as an associate in 1993 and was invited to partnership in 1995. Currently he heads the Banking and Finance practice Group at Camilleri Preziosi, which incorporates the corporate, banking, tax, and insurance units of the firm.

His area of expertise is principally banking, corporate finance, and M&A where he has been actively involved since the beginning of his career.

During his career he has worked on a number of assignments in his particular areas of expertise acting for both local and foreign clients. He has led the Camilleri Preziosi team on a number of Mergers and Acquisition transactions, both local and for international corporates, as well as capital markets assignments acting mostly for issuers of both equity and debt instruments. His expertise in this area has also involved him in advising the Government of Malta on a number of privatisation engagements including the privatisation of the then telecoms incumbent and Malta’s international airport. Banking has also been a major area of focus acting for banks and other funding institutions extensively in financing transactions and other banking operations..

Louis is a lecturer on “Drafting and Negotiating Commercial Contracts” in the Faculty of Laws at the University of Malta and an examiner in Commercial Law at the University of Malta. He is also a speaker in various conferences on topics within his area of expertise.

Laragh Cassar

Laragh commenced her professional career as an Associate with Camilleri Preziosi in 2003 and was appointed Partner as of 1 January 2010. Laragh, together with Louis de Gabriele, heads the Corporate and Finance Group. Laragh specialises in investment funds, asset management, banking and corporate finance. She is also actively involved in capital markets, having advised various companies on the process of listing equity and/or debt securities on both the Official List and the Second Tier Market of the Malta Stock Exchange and subsequently advising them on their continuing obligations as listed companies. She also advises credit institutions licensed in terms of Maltese law. In addition, Laragh has advised both local and foreign entities in the provision of investment services in Malta, ranging from the fund management, investment advice and fund administration to the incorporation and/or domiciliation of funds in Malta together with the licensing of collective investment schemes in Malta both as retail and non-retail funds as well as open-ended and closed-ended schemes.

Other areas which Laragh is involved in include both international and local corporate finance transactions, intellectual, aircraft and property financing and trusts.
