Turner Investments has named Stefania A Perrucci as global head of fixed income, ahead of the firm’s launch of a series of fixed income, credit and absolute return investment strategies. BGC Partners, a provider of brokerage services to the financial and real estate markets, is to acquire Perimeter Markets, an independent provider of electronic fixed income and futures trading in Canada, through its CBID platforms. "This transaction will enhance BGC's electronic offering and increase its footprint in the Canadian marketplace," says Shaun Lynn, president of BGC Partners.   Details of the transaction, which is subject to regulatory approval, have not been disclosed.   Perimeter Markets offers electronic and hybrid broking services in Canadian fixed income securities and futures. Guernsey Finance – the promotional agency for the island’s finance industry internationally – has launched a new corporate brand and logo, We Are Guernsey. European Commodity Clearing (ECC), the central clearing house for energy and related products in Europe, is celebrating its 10th anniversary. Investors redeemed an estimated net USD25.2 billion from hedge funds in July on the back of outflows of USD23.5 billion in June, according to eVestment’s latest Hedge Fund Asset Flows Report. The latest wave of redemption pressure brings year-to-date flows to a negative USD55.9 billion.   In terms of cumulative magnitude, the redemption pressures facing the hedge fund industry in the last two months are reminiscent of the second half of 2011, when in a four month span investors redeemed an estimated USD42.0 billion.
