The Hedge Fund Standards Board (HFSB) has appointed Clint Carlson (pictured), Founder of Carlson Capital, an USD8 billion alternative asset management firm based in Texas, to its Board.  The HFSB is the global standard-setting body for the hedge fund industry and custodian of the Hedge Fund Standards.   The addition of Carlson to the HFSB board reflects recent growth in the number of US managers supporting the Hedge Fund Standards. NFA President and CEO Daniel Roth has announced his plan to retire in the coming year. NFA's Board of Directors has authorised the formation of a committee to conduct a search for his successor. The search will consider both internal and external candidates. Roth (pictured) joined NFA, a self-regulatory organisation for the US derivatives industry, in September 1983 as an attorney and has held a number of positions with increasing responsibilities, including General Counsel, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.
