Lanware has been awarded a three year contract to provide its cloud-based technology outsourcing services to hedge fund Finisterre Capital, part of Principal Global Investors (PGI) who took a majority stake in Finisterre in 2011. As mainstream banks continue to face growing pressure from the alternative finance industry, a new study by Amicus Finance, a provider of short term lending solutions, has revealed the key factors driving small businesses towards alternative lenders. According to the report, nearly half (45 per cent) of small business owners believe that alternative lenders offer more flexibility than banks, while 37 per cent said they have a greater ability to lend.  A quarter (25 per cent) of small firms believe that alternative lenders outscore banks on customer service, specialist sector knowledge (24 per cent) and speed (22 per cent).
