Carey Olsen is strengthening its corporate and finance team in Jersey by making Guy Coltman a partner in this practice area.

Coltman (pictured) specialises in corporate work focusing on mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, joint ventures and general corporate advice.

Managing partner Alex Ohlsson says: ‘The addition of a new partner to our corporate and finance team is another positive step forward for the firm, and in Guy we believe we have found the right person to add real value to our offering in what is an increasingly important area of business for us.’

Coltman says: ‘Taking on this new role is very exciting. Being made partner gives me the opportunity to challenge myself to match the excellent service levels provided by the existing partners at Carey Olsen and hopefully to add new impetus to the growing corporate and finance team.’

Prior to joining Carey Olsen in September 2006, Coltman practised corporate law with an emphasis on private and public company mergers and acquisitions at the London office of the international law firm Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, and latterly with Ogier in Jersey.

Carey Olsen is the largest law firm in the Channel Islands and acts for a number of institutional clients in large, multi-jurisdictional transactions, as well as for governments and corporates, professional firms and high-net-worth individuals.
