Concept Capital, an institutional broker and total solutions provider for global investment managers, has appointed K. Whitney Stanco to its Washington Research Group as energy policy analyst.

With a broad range of experience in traditional and alternative energy companies and a background in technology solutions, Stanco will cover alternative energy, climate policy and the intersection between traditional energy generators and renewable suppliers.

She will follow legislative and regulatory issues in power generation, supply and investment in the US and internationally, with a special focus on solar power, having developed a proprietary model to estimate US solar PV demand.

Stanco was a member of the Washington Research Group for three years prior to its joining Concept Capital.

Stanco will work closely also with the Washington Research Group’s Ed Garlich who focuses on the traditional energy sector and the oil & gas industry.

Garlich says: ‘Having Ms. Stanco on the team allows us to cover a much wider swath of energy topics for our clients.’

Earlier in her career, Stanco was involved in a study on major US gasoline retailers for PFC Energy and was a contractor with BP (Triad Resources) where she managed projects designed to enhance the technology for BP’s Houston and Calgary gas and power trading floors.

Prior to that, she was with Accenture in both Germany and the US as a financial services analyst.
