Prisma Capital Partners has appointed six staff, including three senior members, in the areas of portfolio management, operational due diligence and marketing.
The expansion comes as the firm celebrates its five year anniversary.
The new members to Prisma's team include several hedge fund industry veterans as well as younger associates. The expansion of staff follows the relocation of the Prisma headquarters from Jersey City, New Jersey to larger offices in New York, and the opening of a London office last year.
James M. Walsh has been appointed as a managing director to coordinate the marketing effort. He has served as an institutional marketing consultant for the firm since 2004. He has held senior positions at Zurich Financial Services, Société Générale Securities Corporation/SG Cowen, Prudential Securities and The First Boston Corporation/CSFB.
Daniel S. Lawee has been hired as portfolio manager, fixed income, volatility and reinsurance. He has over 13 years of experience in investment strategies including fixed income, currencies and mortgages. Prior to joining Prisma, he served as a portfolio manager at Northwater Capital Management where he was responsible for fixed income, structured credit volatility and reinsurance fund strategies.
Queenie Chang joins as senior operational due diligence associate. She has over 15 years of experience in hedge fund due diligence and hedge fund accounting. Previously Queenie served as a vice president at DB Advisors Fund of Funds and an assistant vice president at Julius Baer Investment Management, in both cases with responsibilities for global operational due diligence.
'While the market faced critical challenges in 2008, Prisma has had the advantages of a stable client base, and avoided issues that distracted other managers like gates, frauds and operational problems. We are delighted to be able to attract new talent to our team and believe that Prisma is well-positioned to capitalize on alpha opportunities for our clients in the current market,' says Girish Reddy, founder and managing partner of Prisma.
