Infonic, provider of HedgeSphere, a product suite for operations of funds of hedge funds, has named Nolan Phillips as chief operating officer and Bridget Piraino as head of global marketing and sales.

The company, headquartered in Zurich, has also established a New York office headed by Piraino.

Their extensive industry experience will play a pivotal role in the continued growth of Infonic and the innovation and delivery of the HedgeSphere product suite. Adding to the depth of our management team demonstrates Infonic’s commitment to becoming the trusted operational backbone of the institutional hedge fund investor industry,’ says Tom Furrer, Infonic’s chief executive. ‘With the establishment of a New York office we will expand our presence delivering innovative products and dedicated client services to asset managers and administrators of funds of hedge funds.’

Infonic has also hired Jane Conway as business product architect to lead the expansion of the product design and management function at the company, and Paul Passant as technical product architect for the next generation HedgeSphere architecture.

Phillips has a 30-year track record in implementing successful strategic IT programmes for global corporations in financial services and information technology vendor organisations. He will play a key role at Infonic with responsibility for operations, client services, product engineering and quality assurance. Nolan has held executive and consulting positions at Coopers and Lybrand, Union Bank of Switzerland, Société Générale, Bankers Trust, IQ Financial Systems and Bank of Bermuda.

Piraino brings 25 years financial services industry experience with a focus on strategic marketing, planning and implementation, building brand awareness and lead generation. At Infonic, her focus will be leading the New York office and promoting the HedgeSphere product line globally. Her career has included Aregon International, the UK financial data delivery system provider, and Goldman Sachs’s fixed income research group. She held senior technical management and financial services marketing positions with Sybase, Tibco Financial Systems and SeeBeyond. Prior to joining Infonic, Piraino was director of marketing and alliances for CorrectNet and vice president of marketing and alliances at Asset Control.

Conway has held senior new product development roles both as a consultant and as an executive with DTCC, Citi and State Street; has established and managed the global financial services practice at Fort Point Partners; and was an associate partner at Andersen Consulting.

Passant has led design and development of high performance trading systems, IT architectures, and private banking and institutional banking systems. He has worked for UBS, Swiss Stock Exchange, Digital Equipment Corporation, Soffex, Saudi Monetary Authority, and Bank National de Lavoro.
