Barclays Wealth, the global wealth manager and adviser, has appointed Mitch Cox as managing director and head of the global investment and product office.
Cox will be based in New York and will also assume responsibility for leading all of Barclays Wealth's business activities in the Americas. He will report directly to Thomas L. Kalaris, chief executive of Barclays Wealth.
Cox joins from Merrill Lynch Global Wealth Management, where he most recently headed up the global investment solutions group, having previously run its global private client market investment and origination and structured products origination and sales divisions - all at managing director level.
Prior to joining Merrill Lynch in 1997, Cox worked in the Private Bank of the Bankers Trust where he was responsible for delivering derivative and hedge fund business. Previous to that he was an attorney at Skadden Arps.
