Anson appoints Conder as Chairman

Anson Group Limited has appointed Professor Richard Conder as its new chairman and Melville Trimble as a new director. Both appointments are non-executive and took effect from Friday 9 March 2012.

Professor Richard Conder retired in 2011 from being the Chief Executive of the GTA University Centre in Guernsey having previously been a Pro Vice Chancellor of Bournemouth University and before then holding senior posts in industry and commerce. Richard Conder is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.

He received a Masters degree in Business Administration from the University of Bath and an Honorary Doctorate in Business Administration from Bournemouth University. Richard Conder is a Visiting Professor at both Bournemouth University and at the University of Insurance and Banking, Warsaw. He has extensive experience of financial management, budgetary control, managing change and leading large public and private sector corporate institutions. He is a non-executive director of a number of academic institutions and their spin-off companies. Professor Conder is a resident of Guernsey.

Melville Trimble, who retires as a director of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in London on 31 March 2012, has for over 25 years been a corporate financier and broker advising fund management houses and closed-ended investment companies. Prior to joining PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP he held senior positions at Cazenove, Merrill Lynch and Herald Investment Management. He is a chartered accountant, a fellow of the Securities Institute and an FSA approved person. He is a board member, and chair of the Audit committee, of the Association of Investment Companies. He has been a non executive director of a number of London listed investment companies incorporated in the United Kingdom and the Channel Islands. He is a resident of the United Kingdom.

Other specialist areas include securitisation vehicles, protected cells companies and limited partnerships. In addition, Anson Registrars is a well established Crest compliant registrar delivering registration services to companies incorporated in Guernsey, England, the Cayman Islands and the British Virgin Islands. Anson Registrars also provides a Receiving House capability in Guernsey for new issues.
