The UCITS Alternative Index Global fell -0.49 per cent in March, erasing February’s gains of 0.87 per cent to leave it at 1.75 per cent YTD. Fixed income was the only strategy able to deliver positive returns of 0.31 per cent. All other strategies recorded losses, most notably Emerging Markets and CTA: down -1.70 per cent and -1.64 per cent respectively. Emerging Markets remain, however, the best performing strategy so far in 2012, up 4.44 per cent. By contrast, CTA is the worst performer in 2012, down -0.99 per cent. Equity Long/Short and Event-driven suffered losses of -0.25 per cent and -0.08 per cent but they remain the second and third best performers this year, up 2.49 per cent and 2.17 per cent.
