The board of the Channel Islands Stock Exchange (CISX) has appointed Jon Moulton as director and chairman.

He takes over from interim chairman Graham Hall, who remains on the board and will temporarily assist to ensure an effective handover.

Moulton (pictured) is a non-executive chairman of FinnCap, the stockbroker. A chartered accountant, a corporate financier and a fellow of the Institute for Turnaround Professionals, Moulton is chairman of Better Capital and chairman of Aurigny Group. He is a trustee of the UK Stem Cell Foundation and an active angel investor. He is a director of the UK Government GBP2.8bn Regional Growth Fund.

Moulton says: “I am very much looking forward to the new challenges that come with the position of Chairman of the CISX and to working with my new colleagues on the Board. The CISX is an international business and has developed a reputation for innovation and for delivering a high quality, personal service. These hallmarks need to continue while we look towards developing the large opportunities open to it and securing the Exchange’s place in the world market.”

Hall says: “The board has unanimously agreed the appointment and looks forward to welcoming Jon to the role. As the CISX celebrates its 15th anniversary, we believe that Jon will greatly enhance the effectiveness of the board in delivering upon the strategic objectives of the Exchange going forward. His experience, business acumen and insights will be invaluable, particularly in light of the prevailing market uncertainties and challenging economic environment.”
