Income Partners Asset Management (HK) Limited, one of Asia’s longest standing Asian fixed income/credit specialist managers, has appointed Shen Tan as managing director, head of client relationship management.
Emil Nguy, chief investment officer, and Francis Tjia, chief executive, who co-founded Income Partners in 1993, say: “We are pleased to have Shen join and lead the firm’s client relationship efforts. The next stage of our growth strategy is to establish a strong footprint with institutional investors globally. We have been managing Asian fixed income portfolios for over 20 years, and both of us agreed we need to continue to focus on our investment process and deliver consistent performance to our clients – the time was right for the firm to add an experienced client facing professional and Shen’s background is ideally suited to engage these institutional investors who have an increasing investment exposure to Asian credit.”
Tan (pictured) says: “My prior experiences have always been with large international asset management firms, I felt the opportunity to join a world class, Hong Kong based asset management business specialising in Asian fixed income was too good to refuse. The performance track record speaks for itself – Emil’s and Francis’ passion, focus and dedication to deliver consistent performance were obvious during our first meeting. I look forward to work with both of them and help investors navigate through these challenging times by leveraging Income Partner’s in-depth understanding of the Asian markets.”
Prior to joining Income Partners, Tan was head of sales and relationship management at Pyramis Global Advisors and head of institutional business, Greater China at Deutsche Asset Management. Tan started his career as a manager researcher at Watson Wyatt, Australia.
