Evanston Capital Management, an institutional hedge fund of funds manager, has appointed Peter Hecht as vice president, senior investment strategist, effective 3 September 2013.

In this newly created role, Hecht will lead ECM’s efforts to produce topical investment research and will work collaboratively with ECM’s investors and their advisers to provide insight about how they can structure their portfolios to best meet their goals and objectives.

“Investors are continually evolving their use of alternative investment strategies and are looking to ECM for guidance about general investment issues and solutions to address their specific needs,” says ECM’s chief executive and chief investment officer Adam Blitz. “With Pete’s combination of academic credentials and practical experience, we expect he will be a great resource for our investors on a wide range of investment topics.”

“I am very pleased to join the talented professionals at ECM, which prides itself on a culture of teamwork, creativity and integrity,” says Hecht. “ECM is committed to providing valuable research and investment advice to its clients and I look forward to playing a valuable role in that effort.”

Prior to joining ECM, Hecht was a senior investment strategist at Allstate Investments for the past eight years. At Allstate, he focused primarily on portfolio strategy and the management of Allstate’s property and casualty and pension portfolios, which included both alternative and traditional investments. Prior to joining Allstate, Hecht was an assistant professor of finance at Harvard Business School for five years.
