Carey Olsen becomes listing agent on Cayman Islands Stock Exchange

Related Topics

Carey Olsen has become a listing agent of the Cayman Islands Stock Exchange (CSX).

The CSX rules require that a recognised listing agent sponsor all primary equity listings and investment fund listings (as opposed to debt listings and certain other categories of instrument for which no listing agent needs to be appointed).

The move complements Carey Olsen’s reputation for listing debt and equity on the Channel Islands Stock Exchange.

Jason Allison (pictured), managing partner of the Cayman Islands office, says: "We had planned to apply to become a listing agent of the CSX later this year but client demand motivated us to bring the application forward. Equity listings appear to be on the increase due in part to the introduction last year of new rules that make it easier for ‘specialist companies’ to obtain a listing. Our clients have welcomed the expansion of what we offer to include listing agency services."

Nick Small, CSX head of listing, says: “We are pleased to welcome Carey Olsen as listing agents and to hear that our new regime for listing specialist companies already seems to be finding its mark.  We look forward to working with Jason and his team on equity and other listings.”
