Misys has appointed Martin Häring as chief marketing officer. He joins the business from the cloud-based content and application delivery network provider Akamai, where he was vice president marketing and channels.
Häring’s role is to strengthen the Misys brand and augment the customer and partner marketing organisation. His remit includes aligning marketing operations more closely to the sales and services teams, ensuring it is able to support the business fully as Misys continues along its growth trajectory.
Frank Brienzi, president and chief sales officer, says: “Martin Häring joins Misys as the company enters a new phase of rapid growth. We have realigned our business to meet the needs of our customers more effectively and have started to expand our footprint. The last financial year saw our software business grow by more than 30 per cent and the marketing strategy and execution will be critical to continue that growth going forward. Our customers see our strengths in the breadth of products, backed up by the expertise of our people. Martin will help build our brand and execute our marketing strategy so we become even more closely aligned to the customers’ needs and deliver more value to them through our world-class products and services.”
Häring says: “I have joined Misys because I am impressed with the company’s unique and unrivalled approach to offer the broadest and most integrated software portfolio for financial services organisations. Many of the world’s largest banks rely on the Misys solution portfolio and its services, and I look forward to helping to drive the Misys brand, the go-to-market strategy and the international expansion. Misys is a market leader within the financial software sector and has proven its understanding of customer and market needs with the ability to deliver superior software solutions and services around the globe.”
With over two decades of leadership in marketing and strategic business development, Häring has had previous roles at IBM, Sun Microsystems and Oracle, where he was most recently vice president worldwide field marketing for Oracle’s server line of business.
During his tenure at Sun Microsystems, Häring held several international marketing positions including vice president marketing EMEA, senior director of marketing for South and East Europe, Middle East & Africa and director of marketing for Germany and Austria.
