AIM-listed alternative investment group Integrated Asset Management has appointed Peter Rose as chief investment officer of its fund management division, Integrated Alternative Investments, starting in June.

Rose joins from Ivy Asset Management, a fund of hedge funds subsidiary of Bank of New York, where he was director of research with responsibility for the company’s relative value, credit, and tactical trading strategy groups.

Before joining Ivy in September 2005, Rose was head of portfolio construction and strategies for International Asset Management, a London-based fund of hedge funds manager, and previously head of European hedge fund risk management for Bear Stearns.

‘We are delighted to have secured the services of Peter, who is without doubt one of the leading lights in the hedge fund of funds industry,’ says Integrated chief executive Emanuel Arbib. ‘His expertise in investment strategy and portfolio construction coupled with his knowledge of risk management will be invaluable in our newly created role of chief investment officer.

‘2006 was a transformational year for Integrated Asset Management with our acquisition of Attica Investments and the growth in our assets under management and advice to more than USD1.5bn. We are certain that Peter will play a central role in our continued business success.’

Rose has also worked as head of trading and risk management for a long/short equity fund and been a convertible arbitrage trader within a London-based hedge fund. In addition, he spent two years working for the Financial Services Authority drafting rules on value at risk and option modelling.

Integrated Asset Management, which is listed on the Alternative Investment Market of the London Stock Exchange, specialises in fund management, alternative investment products and institutional equity and fixed-income brokerage services. The firm has offices in five countries and is owned by a mix of institutional shareholders, management and private investors.
