Recently launched operational solutions firm QT Advisors is helping a number of hedge fund clients prepare for institutional investor-led operational due diligence (ODD) reviews.
QT Advisors founder Quentin Thorn (pictured) says: “Many hedge fund COOs are keen to make the ODD process efficient for themselves and the investor reviewing them. As a result, independent practical feedback and suggestions can be invaluable in terms of preparation and rectifying areas for improvement.
“Too often managers are visited by investors and never hear back as to why they did not progress towards allocation. We appreciate that managers are not perfect and investors need to be sensitive to the complexity of the strategy, age of the firm, geography and AUM when performing ODD reviews. They do however, like to see a willingness to change.”
