Turnover at Deutsche Börse’s cash markets at EUR96.1 billion in May

Order book turnover on Xetra, the Frankfurt Stock Exchange and Tradegate stood at EUR96.1 billion in May 2014, down from EUR109.2 billion in May 2013.

Of the EUR96.1 billion, EUR88.4 billion were attributable to Xetra (May 2013: EUR99.5 billion).
 
EUR3.9 billion were attributable to the Frankfurt Stock Exchange (May 2013: EUR5.4 billion).
 
Order book turnover on Tradegate Exchange totalled approximately EUR3.8 billion in May (May 2013: EUR4.3 billion).
 
In equities, turnover reached EUR84.2 billion on Deutsche Börse’s cash markets (Xetra: EUR78.9 billion, Frankfurt Stock Exchange: EUR1.8 billion, Tradegate Exchange: EUR3.5 billion). Turnover in bonds was EUR1.0 billion, and in structured products EUR1.1 billion. Order book turnover in ETFs/ETCs/ETNs amounted to EUR9.7 billion.


 
A total of 15.7 million transactions were executed on Xetra in May (May 2013: 18.1 million). The average daily turnover on Xetra stood at EUR4.2 billion in May (May 2013: EUR4.5 billion). 


 
The DAX security with the highest turnover in May was Siemens AG at EUR4.5 billion. Metro AG led the MDAX equities at EUR698.4 million, while Deutsche Annington Immobilien SE topped the SDAX equity index with EUR185.1 million, and Nordex SE headed TecDAX with EUR487.7 million. The ETF with the highest turnover on Xetra was iShares DAX UCITS with EUR965.7 million.


 
The electronic trading platform Eurex Bonds traded EUR12.6 billion (single counting) in May (May 2013: EUR7.6 billion).
