The San Bernadino County Employees’ Retirement Association (SBCERA), a USD 4.5 billion pension fund, has licensed Mcube’s AlphaEngine.

AlphaEngine is a web-based software solution that helps manage portfolio decisions in a disciplined and systematic way. It allows investors to evaluate a broad range of investment strategies for all asset classes and use those strategies to guide ongoing portfolio decisions. AlphaEngine can also be used to evaluate external managers individually or as a group.

Timothy Barrett, Executive Director and CIO at SBCERA said: “We are constantly seeking ways to improve our investment process to provide top-tier service to our members. AlphaEngine facilitates a formalisation and transparency of our asset allocation decisions and ensures that these decisions are thoroughly evaluated and analysed. It will allow us to be innovative in many areas, including manager selection and allocation, without increasing our staff.”

Arun Muralidhar, Chairman of Mcube Investement Technologies, said: “We are honoured to have the San Bernadino County Employees’ Retirement Association as a client. SBCERA has a long-standing reputation as a well-run and innovative fund and the evaluation process was extremely comprehensive. This endorsement, therefore, serves as another strong validation of the AlphaEngine value proposition and demonstrates that even smaller funds can access state-of-the-art investment management approaches, traditionally only available to larger funds.”
