In conjunction with a group of substantial European-based family offices, Arundel Partners, the London-based hedge fund investment group, is launching Arundel Emerging Managers LLP (AEM), a fund of funds that will exclusively target and provide seed capital to emerging hedge fund managers in Europe and Asia.

Arundel Partners has an impressive five-year track record of identifying and investing in successful early stage managers, and AEM is a natural extension of this process.

AEM is expected to raise USD100 million from Cornerstone Investors who will receive in return up to 50% of the economic interest in AEM.

Although AEM will be run within the existing Arundel infrastructure and benefit from the full support of its investment team, it will be managed by a standalone team comprising its own CIO, COO, Risk Manager and Marketing Manager.  This team will not only be responsible for sourcing and analysing the potential seeding targets but also provide value-added support services to the seeded hedge fund managers, e.g. fund raising and risk consulting, an attractive bonus for newly established managers.

Background note : Arundel Partners, the London-based funds of hedge funds investment group, was founded in 1998 and is run by its four principals, Paul Ross, Riaz Currimjee, Jabir Sardharwalla and Cambiz Alikhan.

Arundel Partners currently manages four funds of hedge funds, namely:

  • Arundel Premier (European Equity Long/Short)

  • Arundel Japan (Japanese Equity Long/Short)

  • Arundel Fixed Income (Global Fixed Income)

  • Arundel Multi-strategy
