The first closing of Cairn Capital’s Credit Opportunities Fund has attracted initial commitments in excess of USD 100m from UK, European and US investors.
Focusing on investing in the European credit markets, Cairn’s new fund will use credit derivatives and is one of the first such funds to do so in Europe.
“Our Credit Opportunities Fund is a pure credit fund, said Robert Price Jones, director of Cairn. “We are delighted at the interest that sophisticated investors have shown in our fund, and are now focused on delivering returns to those investors who have entrusted us with their money.
He added: “Interest in the credit market and in Cairn Capital has ensured that we are on track to deliver the amount of investment capacity we indicated at the time of the company’s launch last August. To have attracted such a wide range of geographically diverse, blue chip investors with this, our first such fund, is, I believe, a further endorsement of Cairn’s investment and business strategy.”
