Dutch hedge funds gained an average of 11 per cent in 2009, as measured by the Finles/IEX Dutch hedge fund index.
The best performing funds in 2009 were HIQ Invest Market Neutral Fund (43.1 per cent), Antarus Europe Fund (39.9 per cent) and IdB Real Estate Fund (37 per cent).
The best performing funds in December were Antaurus Europe Fund, Fonds Bloemendaal and Aster-X Panorama.
The VOC Commodity Alpha Fund, managed by Christiaen van Lanschot, has been an index constituent since 1 February. The fund uses a market neutral systematic commodity long short strategy.
The Finles/IEX Dutch hedge fund index was launched on 1 January 2009 and contains 28 funds.
