Cambridge Associates has added to new members to its hedge funds group: Charles T Cassidy and Jon R Hansen.

The hedge fund research and consulting teams work in collaboration to identify and screen hedge fund managers and create customized hedge fund programs for clients.

Cassidy joins the firm in the newly-created role of Director of Operational Due Diligence, and will enhance the firm’s existing due diligence process, with a focus on operational issues that include a review of hedge fund’s compliance and control functions, business terms, hedge fund service providers as well as conducting background checks.

Cassidy, who graduated from the University of New Hampshire and received an MBA from Harvard Business School, joins Cambridge Associates after a career of more than 20 years at State Street Bank & Trust Company where he worked in many areas of the business including Offshore Fund Services and European Financial Asset Services.

Hansen meanwhile, joins the firm as a research consultant, specialising in evaluating hedge fund managers and conducting due diligence. Previously Hansen worked for Pearson Prentice Hall as Vice President, Financial Product Development and also served as Senior Corporate Analyst, Strategic Development with Houghton Mifflin Company. Hansen graduated from Bucknell University and received an MBA from the Robert H Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland.

As such, we have 26 individuals dedicated to evaluating, selecting and monitoring hedge fund managers. We are confident that both Charlie and Jon will contribute valuable perspective and experience in helping our Hedge Fund Research and Consulting teams continue to achieve this goal.’
