SunGard has consolidated its offices in London, Paris, Frankfurt and Zurich, Europe's largest financial centres.
Harold Finders, group chief executive officer of SunGard's Financial Systems business in Europe, said: 'SunGard is coming together to better serve its customers. Now we are announcing changes to our day-to-day working environment and work practices that will help collaboration between business units. An office infrastructure that supports our business strategy is a major achievement and is symbolic of a new chapter in SunGard's life in Europe and beyond.'
The move has been made to improve internal collaboration and is part of the company's strategy to deliver a more consistent experience for its customers. Across its business lines, SunGard has been implementing a strategy to help its people and its technology to work more closely together. The European office consolidation will create an infrastructure that supports the business strategy. A state-of-the-art technology backbone across the offices will help increase productivity and provide easier access to SunGard for its European customers.
In central London, six offices with a combined staff of more than 900 will move onto three floors of the Citigroup Tower in Canary Wharf, the capital's new financial district, renowned for the high quality of its facilities. The move begins in July 2006. Over the course of the subsequent eighteen months the six central London SunGard offices will migrate to the shared space.
In Paris, four offices are coming together. An extra floor has been leased at SunGard's existing office in the L'Opéra district. SunGard's business units Adaptiv, AvantGard, BancWare, Reech and STeP will be joined by Cadextan and Armonys, a recently acquired professional services company, and the French Global Account Management team, to create a hub in central Paris.
In Frankfurt, four offices comprising more than 150 people are being consolidated. The move involves the relocation of SunGard business units Adaptiv, EXP, FRONT ARENA, GMI/Octagon, iWORKS, SunGard Consulting Services, the German Global Account Management team and the SunGard regional sales and marketing operations.
In Zurich, the new office facilities are located in the heart of the city. They will include SunGard's Adaptiv, APSYS, FRONT ARENA, iWORKS and the Swiss Global Account Management team. About 40 people will be moving into the new premises in the first phase in September 2006.
