Independent Swedish asset manager Catella Asset Management has gone live with Advent Portfolio Exchange, the latest portfolio management technology from the investment management software provider, as well as its Moxy trade order management system.
Stockholm-based Catella has USD5bn in assets under management and provides fund management, special mandates and strategic asset allocation services to institutional and private investors.
The firm says that with its business expanding and customer requirements becoming more personalised, it sought a solution with integrated fund management and discretionary asset management on a single platform that could also meet local reporting requirements.
'Our asset management business entails complex strategic asset allocations,' says Catella chief executive Stefan Widenfelt. 'We found a solution that allowed us to continue our growth and at the same time maintain our client focus.
'We also wanted a single point of entry for our trading, which Advent's solution provides. We invited a broad range of vendors to showcase their solutions, but we chose the Advent/ Moxy solution as we felt the integrated front-to-back office was best suited to our requirements.'

Established in 1983, Advent Software has as clients firms in 60 countries that manage investments totalling nearly USD14trn. Advent Portfolio Exchange is its latest generation of portfolio management technology, integrating front office client relationship management functions with back office portfolio accounting and reporting operations.
The enterprise solution leverages a single SQL database to deliver client information via a browser-based user interface. Advent stresses that APX delivers improved client service with enhanced security for today's compliance environment.
Moxy is the industry's most widely-used trade order management system with more than 700 clients worldwide, featuring portfolio modelling, rebalancing and what-if scenarios; intra-day order management; pre- and post-trade compliance checking; and electronic order routing and trade execution.
