Advent Software, a leading provider of software and solutions for the global investment management industry, has announced various new appointments, mainly focused on client services and support, to underpin its continuing growth in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Advent, whose products and services are used by firms in 60 countries that manage investments totalling nearly USD14trn, says that with the steady growth of its business in the region over the past nine years, it has built up a strong and loyal client base in the hedge fund, wealth management and asset management sectors.

Hakan Valberg, who joined Advent in 2003, has been appointed senior vice-president and general manager for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, responsible for all aspects of growing the company’s market share across the region.

‘Since he joined Advent, Hakan has made a tremendous impact on Advent’s business,’ says Pete Hess, an executive vice-president and general manager of the company’s investment management group. ‘Under Hakan’s leadership, Advent’s client base in the region has increased, new markets have been established and revenues have doubled.’

Advent says it has made two further appointments to ensure that amid continuing growth all clients receive world-class services and support, with Roger Klausen becoming vice-president for client services and Lars Mellgren joining Advent as client support manager.

‘Roger has been with the company since 1999 and has been instrumental in growing the business in Europe, the Middle East and Africa,’ Valberg says. ‘He has also worked in our San Francisco headquarters on the development of future roadmaps of Advent products, with increased focus on international requirements. Roger already has great relationships with many of our clients and his new role will help reinforce our strong commitment to building long-term relationships with our growing client list.’

‘The client support team has more than doubled in the last 12 months and will continue to grow as client satisfaction remains a top priority for our team. Lars has extensive experience in running large support and development teams in software companies such as OMX and understands our philosophy of providing the premier level support to our clients.

‘Our clients are our biggest asset, and it is paramount we make their experience of working with Advent is as positive and productive as possible. Lars and his team are well positioned to execute this strategy.’
