TD Asset Management has announced the launch of three new pooled fund trusts for Canadian investors designed to offer access to markets that are likely to remain in high demand.

They include a fundamentally invested active extension fund, the TD Emerald 130/30 Fundamental Canadian Equity Pooled Fund Trust, which builds on the firm’s expertise in managing fundamental long-only equity and long/short equity market neutral strategies.

‘TDAM has demonstrated skill and success in buying long and selling equities short – keys to the credibility of any fundamental active extension solution,’ says managing director Robin Lacey. ‘We are one of the first investment managers to bring a Canadian equity solution to this market, one that complements our existing quantitative active extension funds.’

TD Asset Management has also launched two globally-focused equity funds, the TD Emerald Enhanced International Equity Pooled Fund Trust and TD Emerald Global Dividend Pooled Fund Trust.

The firm is one of Canada’s largest investment managers, offering active, quantitative and passive portfolio management to institutional and retail mutual fund clients. Its offering includes alternative investments and portfolio integration services such as transition management, rebalancing and overlay.

At the end of November, TD Asset Management and its affiliates had more than CAD170bn in assets under management on behalf of pension, insurance, endowment, foundation and corporate clients, as well as high net worth and retail investors.
