Isle of Man-based fund of hedge funds provider Nedgroup Investments has appointed Kevin Burrows as a senior analyst in its investment management team, contributing to the selection, monitoring and portfolio construction of the Nedgroup fund range.

He was previously president of Bahamas-based asset management firm Binnacle Investment Group, overseeing the growth of the firm’s global absolute return multistrategy funds from USD25m to more than USD150m in assets under management as well as USD75m in individual global equity and fixed income portfolios under discretionary management.

Burrows was earlier chief investment officer of MeesPierson (Bahamas), managing more than USD80m in individual, institutional and pension portfolios. He was responsible for supervising a portfolio management investment advice and execution team and was a member of the MeesPierson Group Americas investment committee.

He joined MeesPierson following a year as an investment manager at Fidelity Merchant Bank in Nassau, having begun his investment career during a six-year period as assistant manager of the trading and asset management department of Credit Suisse’s Nassau office.

‘We are thrilled to have someone of Kevin’s considerable talent coming onboard,’ says Nedgroup Investments managing director Andrew Lodge. ‘At a time when the competition for skilled investment personnel is intense, Kevin’s appointment is a coup for Nedgroup.’

Nedgroup Investments (IOM) and its UK investment advisory affiliate offer private and institutional investors a range of risk-controlled investment management solutions through a flexible range of fund of fund investment solutions, creating portfolios custom-designed to meet clients’ specific investment objectives and risk profiles.
