Collins Stewart Fund Management has appointed Mike Brown as head of fund sales, responsible for leading sales of the firm’s multi-asset, multi-manager funds and specialist equity, fixed interest and hedge funds.

Brown was previously with Investec Asset Management, where for the past eight years his responsibilities have included distribution into the UK, Middle East, the Channel Islands and other offshore centres, Scandinavia and the Americas. Earlier in a 22-year career he worked for Scottish Mutual International, Sun Life (IOM) and Clerical Medical International.

‘Mike is a highly talented individual with a wealth of experience and will play a vital role in helping us achieve our ambitious expansion plans,’ says Neil Darke, head of Collins Stewart Wealth Management, parent of the fund management business. ‘This appointment represents further investment by Collins Stewart and commitment to building a first-class fund management business.’

Says Brown: ‘I am delighted to be joining Collins Stewart Fund Management as it embarks on its next growth phase. I was particularly attracted by its longstanding track record in the area of alternative assets and its multi-asset, multi manager offering backed up by one of the largest teams in the British Isles. I am looking forward to promoting a number of proposed initiatives in both these areas.’

Collins Stewart Wealth Management is a portfolio manager and stockbroker with more than 200 staff in London, Jersey, Guernsey, Isle of Man and Geneva and more than GBP4bn in assets under management, wholly owned by London Stock Exchange-listed investment bank Collins Stewart.
