Nikko Asset Management has appointed Geoffrey Post (pictured) as Head of International Product Development (ex-Japan) reported Institutional Asset Manager this week. Prior to joining Nikko, Post headed up product development at Coutts. In his new role, Post will work closely with Nikko AM’s investment, sales and product development teams in Asia (ex-Japan). Based in London, Post reports to Nikko AM Europe President, Charlie Metcalfe. Post has worked across the world including Hong Kong and Singapore having held previous positions at Merrill Lynch Investment Managers, where he was responsible for the international mutual fund range, and SG Warburg where he held an auditing role. Metcalfe said that delivering international products to international investors “will be a major new initiative for Nikko AM in 2012. Geoff’s appointment will assist us in creating and positioning products that are relevant to, and competitive for, the market.” Post commented: “Looking at Nikko AM’s capabilities in China, India, Singapore and Australia, I am confident we can bring some compelling Asian investment products to our international clients.” As part of its continuing Asia growth strategy Nikko AM recently announced a joint venture with Ambit Holdings. The deal will help broaden Nikko AM’s Asia footprint with offices in Mumbai and Mauritius and increase the group’s total number of offices to 20 across eleven countries including Japan, China, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, the UK, Australia and the US.
