Pictet launches global equity long/short trading fund

Related Topics

Pictet Asset Management, the asset management arm of the Swiss private bank Pictet & Cie, has launched the Kronos Fund, a global equity long/short trading fund. The fund is distinctive as it combines a long/short equity strategy with an overlay of option trading to build convexity positions that aim to protect against and benefit from major market moves.

The investment team, based in Geneva, is headed by Julien Stouff. The team has extensive equity trading, equity derivatives and global macro experience and has worked together developing the strategy since 2005.

The investment process, which is applied to a global and liquid universe, is based on quantitative bottom-up and top-down models rather than company meetings. ‘This makes the process scalable and unbiased. In addition, active trading and the use of derivatives allows us to express our views in the most efficient way,’ says Julien Stouff.

A key belief of the team is that rare events happen more often than expected. This phenomenon results in market volatility that the fund seeks to exploit.

The Kronos Fund Ltd is registered in the Cayman Islands and has monthly/30 days liquidity terms. Minimum investment USD100,000.
