Jan Viebig

CEO, Head of Alternative Investments

Prior to joining Harcourt, he worked from 2010 to 2012 as Head of Emerging Markets Equities at Credit Suisse in Zurich, where he led and managed the investment team. Previously, Jan worked from 1999 to 2009 at DWS (Deutsche Bank Group). Initially he was Senior Portfolio Manager for international and emerging markets and later Managing Director and Hedge Fund Manager managing various long/short equity, absolute return and long-only funds. In this position, he won several performance awards. Jan finished his habilitation (post doctoral degree) at the University of Bremen, Germany.

Education

Jan holds a Master of International Management (post MBA) from the Thunderbird School of Global Management in Glendale, USA, and a M.Sc. as well as a PhD in Business Administration and Economics from the University of the Armed Forces Munich. He is certified as Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).

Deputy Head of Alternative Investments Head Advisory

Prior to joining Harcourt in 2005, Dr. Georg Wessling worked as an investment consultant for Ecofin Investment Consulting AG from 1995 to 2004. At Ecofin he was responsible for alternative asset classes, such as hedge funds, private equity and real estate and advised some of Ecofin’s largest clients. In this role he was also involved in asset liability management and defining strategic asset allocations. He was appointed Head of Portfolio Management at Harcourt in January 2006 and CIO in 2009.

Education

Dr. Georg Wessling studied at the Universities of Nijmegen (Netherlands), Münster (Germany) and Berne (Switzerland). He obtained a Master in Economics from the University of Berne and a PhD in Finance from the University of Zurich.

Harcourt Investment - Armand Van Houten

Armand Van Houten

Head Alternative Products & Risk Management

Prior to joining Harcourt in 2004, Armand van Houten worked as Senior Relationship Manager with Citco Banking Corporation in Curacao and Amsterdam where he was responsible for a portfolio of clients of 1.6 billion USD. His main responsibilities were relationship management, trade execution in hedge funds, monitoring of credit facilities, forward contracts, margins, account balances and training of new staff. Armand van Houten was appointed Head of Operations at Harcourt in January 2004 and became Head of Risk Control & Operational Risk in January 2008. In October 2009 he was appointed as Chief Operations Officer.

Education

Armand van Houten has completed a MEAO Degree in Business Administration. Business Economics and Logistics, holds an Investment Advisor Degree  from NIBE-SVV and is a certified Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA).
