Multi-jurisdictional law firm Conyers Dill & Pearman has hired Guy Cooper to its corporate practice in Bermuda as part of a spate of new hires to the firm.

Cooper (pictured) will focus on company and commercial work, with specialist expertise in the formation of companies and partnerships, joint ventures, restructuring and finance transactions.

He has experience in a diverse range of corporate, transactional, regulatory and finance work.

Cooper joins Conyers from Reed Smith’s financial industry group, where he worked as an associate in both the Dubai and Abu Dhabi offices of the firm. Prior to working at Reed Smith, Cooper worked in Conyers’ Bermuda office before a secondment to Dubai, where he was instrumental in the launch of the firm’s Dubai practice in 2006 alongside Roger Burgess.

John Collis, Conyers’ chairman and head of the corporate department, says: “We are pleased to welcome Guy back to the firm. We expect our corporate practice to continue growing as he and our other corporate lawyers provide clients with the highest quality responsive, timely and thorough legal advice.”

Cooper adds: “I am delighted to be back at Conyers. My experience in dealing with multi-jurisdictional matters and international legal teams across different time zones is particularly well-suited to Conyers, which continues to expand its presence worldwide.”
