Scherer (pictured), who joins V&E from Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft, focuses his practice on the representation of banks, dealers and other market participants in connection with the development, structuring, negotiation and documentation of a variety of financial products, including fixed income derivatives, credit derivatives and structured financial products.

“Rob’s derivatives and structured products experience complements our existing practice and adds depth in an area of utmost importance to our clients, who rely on us the handle their most complex financial needs,” says Billy Young, head of V&E’s finance practice group.

Scherer’s transactional experience covers a broad range of asset classes and credit structures and includes providing advice with respect to compliance with the Dodd-Frank Act and rating agency criteria for structured transactions.

“V&E’s reputation as a leader in energy and finance was a huge draw for me, providing the opportunity to work with a talented group of colleagues on behalf of clients throughout the world,” says Scherer. “I couldn’t be more excited to embark on the next phase of my career here.”
