Harmonic Capital appoints MD of North American distribution

Harmonic Capital has appointed Robert B Fitzpatrick as managing director of North American distribution. 

 
Harmonic Capital, based in Massachusetts, is a recently established US affiliate of Harmonic Capital Partners, a UK-based quantitative hedge fund manager providing global macro and currency products to institutional investors.
 
Fitzpatrick will be responsible for leading the development of Harmonic’s institutional business in the region, with a particular focus on public and corporate pension plans. Bringing more than 20 years’ financial services experience, Fitzpatrick joins from First Quadrant where he held the role of director, global consultant relations and business development. Over the course of his career, he has also held senior positions managing consultant relationships at Putnam Institutional Management and Fidelity Investments.
 
David Pendlebury, chief executive of Harmonic, says: “We strongly believe our global macro and currency expertise are well suited to the needs of the North American institutional market and can be of significant benefit to investors. Bob’s appointment emphasises our commitment to the region; his experience as a business developer and his relationships with the investment consulting community leave him ideally placed to lead our efforts in this key market.”
