Law firm Dechert has appointed Mark Browne as a partner with the firm’s financial services group in its Dublin office.

“We are delighted to have Mark join us,” says Peter Astleford, Dechert’s global financial services group co-chair. “Mark’s experience, dynamism and deep knowledge of the Irish and international investment funds sector will be an important addition to our expanding local and global capability. His experience in advising US, UK and international asset managers on their Dublin-based fund projects, combined with his offshore experience, will be invaluable in meeting the needs of our clients and adding to our capability to advise managers on their international fund platforms in both the UCITS and private funds area in Dublin.”

Browne has more than a decade of experience advising on all areas of investment funds in both Ireland and the Cayman Islands, in both the UCITS and alternative space and across all asset classes from equity to property. He also advises on key ancillary issues such as anti-money laundering regulations, corporate governance, derivatives and distribution. He has been particularly involved in advising upon the impact of the AIFMD.

“Dechert is the leading legal adviser to international asset managers and I am very pleased to be joining the firm,” Browne says. “I am looking forward to working closely with my colleagues in Dublin, London, the US, continental Europe, the Middle East and Asia and to be part of the continued success of the firm in offering a globally integrated solution to asset managers in the important and growing Dublin funds market."
