Antarctica Asset Management and Silverhorn Group have launched a new partnership – Antarctica Asset Management Asia – to provide fund research and advisory services for hedge fund managers and other clients.
Based in Hong Kong, the new venture will be led by Filip Vandenven, head of business development of Antarctica, and Mike Imam, partner and co-founder of Silverhorn Group.
The partnership will focus on researching the Asian hedge fund space and plans to hire a number of local analysts who will be integrated into the global research team.
“Combining Antarctica’s global research capabilities with Silverhorn’s extensive local experience in wealth management, asset management, capital advisory and corporate consulting, the partnership has a unique offering,” says Imam. “Our respective, specialist capabilities complement each other and provide deep hedge fund industry expertise and broad investor reach.”
The partnership is an extension of Antarctica’s existing business in Asia, which was established in 2001.
“We have ambitious expansion plans,” says Pieter De Weerdt, chief executive officer of Antarctica. “Mike and Filip will build our regional presence by targeting Asian investors who are keen to allocate resources to hedge funds.
