Advent hires former Chatham research director

Drew S. Hanson has joined Advent Capital Management (ACM) as a Managing Director and senior credit analyst.


Hanson was previously the Director of Research of Chatham Asset Management, where he contributed to the rapid growth of a credit hedge fund and led the investment team. At ACM, Hanson will focus on the firm’s Credit Opportunity hedge fund strategy. Hanson will also lend his expertise to ACM’s convertible and high yield strategies.


Before advancing to money management, Hanson spent 16 years in fixed-income credit research, where he was twice named on the Institutional Investor All Star research team. Hanson led a telecommunications research team at Morgan Stanley and he was a senior analyst in telecommunications and media at Credit Suisse First Boston and its predecessor, DLJ. His credit markets experience includes syndicated bank loans as well as corporate bonds
